On August 29th, Team Blink participated in the Great Urban Race (www.greaturbanrace.com). It was a blast and we placed 12th out of 258 teams. We faced some stiff competition with over 650 participants and some crazy costumes. We had to run around the City solving 12 clues and then race back to the finish as fast as possible. We could use public transportation but couldn’t use private cars, taxis, etc.. We ran a lot. We started near the space needle and ran to Pike Place Market to capture a picture of the clock at 12:30 sharp and take a picture with a street performer holding up a peace sign. We then had to run down to Pioneer Square where did some charades at the Comedy Underground. After a few other activities there, we caught a lucky bus up to Capitol Hill where we had to sign (yes, sign language) “What is Your Name?” That wasn’t easy. We “phoned a friend” who watched it on YouTube but he had a hard time explaining it to us. That set us back a few minutes. We then headed down to Westlake and donated some canned food to Northwest Harvest. We finished in 2 hours 17 minutes. It was a great day to represent Blink!!
